The trade-off is attention. A candle needs to be lit, watched, and extinguished properly — never left unattended, kept away from kids, pets, and drafts, and burned in sessions of 1 to 4 hours. When to Choose a Reed Diffuser

Pick a diffuser for spaces you can't or don't want to supervise — a nursery, a rental where open flames aren't allowed, a hallway or bathroom that needs a constant background scent, or a desk you're not always sitting at.
